I was a student there when it first opened, entering in 6th grade. The whole school is a joke, with incapable staff and students who just stopped caring. As mentioned in another review, favoritism is seen here. It even occurs in the high school. Bullying is also ignored, from a personal experience of mine. My parents reported it to the school, but they wouldn't do anything because the bully was the star player of the football team. What a disgrace.

I am currently a student at Holmes Middle School, and I hope I do not offend anyone, but life here is horrible. There are a million reasons why I don't like HMS, but unfortuantly I cannot describe all of them. So allow me to just list them. They don't really care about bullying (trust me, I know), they don't provide good services and needs, the school is highly unsanitory and unhealthy, they have an unaffective way of delivering information to students like me, they're not honest about a lot of things and usually make promises that they don't keep, they're hypocrites who criticize students although they usually do half the wrong things students do, they have a bad influence on us student (language, behavior, etc.), they use their money mainly on parties and celebrations rather than things we really need like better lunch and febreze in the restrooms, they don't care about a student's personal life which may be a reason why they don't behave well in class, they're either too hard or too easy with discipline (never just right), they're usually not very nice, they show favoritism towards 'popular' and 'cool' kids and I'm running out of space. Point be made, I dislike the school...

Found out recently that a middle school teacher/cheer leading coach had a relationship with one of the high school basketball players. It really disgusts me to think about it. And on top of that the middle school principal knew about it the whole time, as did the basketball coach but it was told to keep hush hush because he was the star player. Makes me sick. Glad I put my kids in private and not Holmes.
